I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Currys (Édimbourg, Écosse)
Interview
If you pass the online application you will be contacted via phone call. They will conduct a short interview (why do you want to work for us?, what can you bring to the team? and so on). I was called two days after submitting my application and was told then and there that I was successful and would be invited in for the three part interview.
The interview is split into three parts.
1. Mingle on the shop floor, talk to customers. I literally just went up to a customer, introduced myself and informed them that this was part of my interview. I think I got really lucky as the lady was super nice and basically said "do you know anything about iPads? Come over here and tell me about iPads". We had a nice little chat and at the end she approached a manager and told them how helpful and polite I was.
2. Face to face interview. Just the bog standard "tell me a time when bla". They also want to make sure that you're fixable and available during busy periods such as Christmas.
3. Sell something to a store member. I sold a fictional tablet. I was given an information sheet and about some deals. Make sure you ask questions and find out what the "customer" wants then simply just match it to the product. Also, I knew in advance that Currys are strict on promoting their insurance and help line. So make sure to promote them during the role play.
Usual interview questions. They will ask you to pick a product and how you would sell it to the customer etc. Questions based on strengths. Ask questions based on you CV
