      Summer Associate Interview

      New York, NY
      No offer
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capco

      Interview

I had 2 in person interviews. The first one was very nice. The second one was the snarkiest person I have ever had the misfortune to interviewed with. She constantly scoffed at and laughed at everything I said and, on multiple occasions, accused me of lying or being incorrect (e.g. when I said I wanted to learn technical skills like learning how to use numbers in Excel). She was very rude and overall did not make me feel welcome. Examples: Me: "So what kind of skills do you look for in an intern?" Her: "*scoff* We don't just hire anyone." Me: "......." Her: "Do you have any more questions?" Me: "I want to learn soft skills like presenting and talking to people and technical skills like learning about numbers thr---" Her: "Ha that's not a TECHNICAL SKILL" Me: "What? Her: "What do you think a technical and soft skill is?" Me: "A soft skill is like communication and a technical skill is like Excel or Coding" Her: "Yeah. That's right."

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capco (New York, NY) in Dec 2019

      Interview

The process was overall fair and consisted of a video interview and in person interview at their office in downtown NYC. The in person interview was their chance to get to know you through behavioral questions and a group case study testing team work, communication, etc.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Capco (New York, NY) in Feb 2017

      Interview

3 - step interview process. The process can be very long. 1. First round interview with a recruiter. 2. Second round interview with two back-to-back consultants. 3. Final interview with a project lead to determine your fit. Capco passes your resume to different project leads to see how you fit in with specific projects. This can make the process a long one, but ensures you will fit with the team.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capco (New York, NY) in Jan 2017

      Interview

I did not progress past the phone screen, but the questions were mostly behavioral. They included questions that are typically involved in the consulting recruiting process including those involving team dynamics, working to resolve problems, and also interest in the field. The interviewer also asked me what I foresaw to be the most disruptive or prevalent issue to face the financial industry in the next decade.
