I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI
Interview
The interview process is very long and requires quite a significant amount of time to prepare each step (e.g. going into stores before the first group AC day, interviewing an area manager before the final personal interview). Aldi and the Area Manager role is really about personal fit. Its all about keeping costs low and being efficient, with a hands-on mindset, being diligent and humble. This is the most important factor according to my experience and thus the role is certainly not for everyone - despite the relatively good pay and perks.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Bathgate, Scotland) in Mar 2015
Interview
Applied through their online application and received a letter inviting me for an interview at their HQ in Scotland. This was a group interview with individual presentations lasting minutes on ourselves and then a team based exercise which required us to place items in order of their importance in a survival based scenario. We were asked to speak to the area managers in our local stores if we were serious. Whether this was then reported back and affecting the offer of a second interview I don't know.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ALDI (Kildare) in Mar 2016
Interview
group interview and we were given a scenario to prioritise 12 objects from the most important to least important. Then we had to do aptitude tests and following this there was a group debate lasting approx. 20 minutes
